New AF100 Shoulder Brace

I just finished up the first batch of these and they are off to the anodizer.

I will have them in stock next week.

The shoulder brace is attached to my NanoFlash bracket for the AF100 that fits inside the handle, it is a very solid mount. The NanoFlash bracket can also be used for wireless receivers etc. There are optional shoe mounts. The shoulder bracket pivots to fit you and can be used in different positions to use the VF or the LCD.

As options you can order with AB Goldmount plate or IDX V-mount plate. These can power the AF100, NanoFlash and on camera light. Contact me for pricing on battery plates. There are more options as well.

The shoulder brace without the NF bracket is available, this includes the attachment bracket for the AF100 complete with tool kit and extra screws. You can later add the NF arm if you wish for.

If any one is interested contact me.

I have applied to become a sponsor here.

Here are some photos:

Very nice. Because I don't see it in these images, is the distance from shoulder pad to the camera adjustable?

I think that the NF plate is potentially useful for a lot of shooters anyways, as a mount point for wireless receivers, etc.

OK, so what's the damage?

Because of the way the foam is placed on the bracket, you can move 6" back and forth on the brace to be in a comfortable place. The foam conforms to your shoulder to make it stay where you put it.

The whole setup with the NF arm is $275.00, just the SB w/o NF arm is $225.00 this includes the attachment bracket for the AF100 complete with tool kit and extra screws.

I will also soon have an AF100 specific 15mm rail system, that is quick release, with threaded rods of different lengths so you can make any size rods you need with lens support. And has a separate adjustable tripod plate for use when you need to change the CG with heavy lenses. The rods will be gold anodized aluminum and called the "Gold Bars".

This system will work in conjunction with the rod system or any other rod system. The idea is it is light simple rugged and comes off quickly.

I like that this was designed around the side handle mounting holes, so that it can be left built as a shoulder rig independent of tripod mounting or lens support solutions.

Great work. I´ve seen the other stuff you have made over at DVinfo. I really want one (and a NANO). Do you ship to Norway, if so what will it cost?

Nice stuff, I'll consider it...thank you.
How much just fir the NF bracket?

If all you want is the bracket no NanoFlash arm or shoulder brace, it would be $100. It has 4 holes with 1/4"-20 threaded holes. I plan on making more kits to hang on it. But of course you can then make your own out of many different materials. It is a rugged attachment.

The 2 part NanoFlash Bracket by itself would be $50.00. How would you attach it?

I will also soon have a pivoting mahogany handle with a start stop button built in to replace the Pany Handle. Any other ideas are welcome. I am basically making the things I want on my AF100.

Currently I am working on the 15mm "Gold Bars" and lens support with handles, more on those soon.

HI,
looking good...which adapter did you use for your canon lenses that we can see in the picture...

I am just using a cheap ($29.00) adapter from Amazon. Fotodiox

Like this one:

It works fine, I hope I don't have to use it too long. I have an order in with a dealer for a Birger mount, and I am on their mailing list. That will be the real solution. I also have a Novoflex for my FD lenses, it is really nice but is a couple hundred.

Is the wood handle going to be similar to the Aaton? Will it mount off the side stud or rails?

Initially I am thinking it will attached to the side of the cam. But I want to make it very adjustable, not just angles but also able to move forward and up or down. And yes it will be reminiscent of the Aaton, but not an exact copy.

I would be interested in mounting my Sennheiser G2's in the place of the Nanoflash with that bracket! How much would just the bracket be?

Olof,
Will you be able to trigger the camera on and off?
BTW, great design on the shoulder mount, waiting for it to appear on nanoflash.net

NanoFlash.net has the Bracket and NF arm, but they are not stocking the shoulder brace.

It will be on my site later this week. Or contact me directly.

The idea of the handle is to have a thumb switch for record on/off.

Shoulder brace looks awesome. The rig will need longer bolts than original panny, right? if u slip it behind the handle...and what about the other "hotshoe look-a-like" thing behind the grip, need to remove it too?
Thx.

Yes you remove the shoe on the handle, before reattaching the handle.

There are instructions and photos showing exactly how to do this, it take about a minute to install the entire setup. I supply all the screws you need with a small tool kit including a few extras.

The screws in the handle stay on the handle, they bolt onto my new brace.

There are 2 unused threaded holes in the AF100 that my bracket attaches to. It is very sturdy. Panasonic did a great job on this camera.
