New A7II omg Sony

Camera shake is much more noticeable because of the rolling shutter. In fact it is one of the primary reasons that the C series from Canon sold so well. The perception of camera shake was signifigantly reduced as a result of much better rolling shutter scan rates.
I see, thanks for the comment. I guess exactly this is the reason the Sony FS100/700/7 cameras are so popular, too.

Camera shake is much more noticeable because of rolling shutter, but also rolling shutter is much more noticeable because of camera shake. By including IBIS, Sony would be making the RS thing much less of a problem. You'd still have issues in long pans, but they would nearly disappear for lots of handheld shots. Having IBIS (or OSS) is like using a much heavier camera, one that doesn't do micro-jitters. And I want that.

To see how OSS, a heavier setup and masterful camera handling can help reduce RS issues, check this video that maarek uploaded to the a7s sample footage thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...ootage&p=1986492909&viewfull=1#post1986492909

IBIS will be great for those long lens 'static' handheld or shoulder shots.

If I am going to be moving the camera around, I'd turn it off and go with a wider lens most likely. But the idea that I can literally "handhold" a tiny camera and shoot a scene without micro jitters is wonderful sounding.
