New A1 and some footage

Thanks Ncje,
Not sure if "exactly the same" was referring to my custom setting or the way Premiere handles HDV. The custom setting was so close it was scary, I think I had the colors off by 1 number here and there, and the sharpening was 1 higher. As for Premiere, the only time it starts to hiccup is when I start adding effects. And even then I can utilize the GPU support to help things along. The only major difference from SD editing...no scene detect, and LONG render times. Probably going to sell the DVX now.

Sacksnack:

You mentioned no scene detect in HDV with PPro. Do you just get one long continuous clip that you have to break down in post?

I get one long clip. I usually stop every so often when there's a lull in the action, so I have a few different files. I'm going to experiment some more with capturing different frame rates using different capture settings. I've also got Vegas 7 here, so I'll try that out tonight.

Man, that is a bummer. Hopefully Adobe addresses this in a PPro update. I always use scene detect with FCP. Hard drive space is so cheap it just makes sense to capture the whole tape and avoid all the batch capture shuttling for each individual clip.(which eats up probably as much time as it saves in the ingest process)

I can't wait to get my HV20 deck. :)
