new 5d Mark 3?

+1 to everybody. I agree and it is amazing that this megapixel marketing thing is still going. As if "normal" people are running around printing 20x30s on a weekly basis. Especially when most images from non-pros probably end up on Facebook.

I would wonder if they could put the 50mbps 4:2:2 codec in a stills camera. Is there enough room & procesing power? After all, this is supposed to be a stills camera first.

There will be some serious heat problems if it has dual digic 32mp sensor and the technology stays the same (line skipping, codec etc). And the image will have even more problems with aliasing, moire, jello etc. Basicly they have to change the technology to better if they are going double the processor (which they will) and bump up the megapixels, or else it will be total failure.

One thing is for sure, either photographers or videographers will be dissapointed with the MKIII. My guess is the latter. Maybe they will come with 3D that is optimised for video and has smaller mp count and no line skipping etc. It's really a shame that pocket cameras from Sony that cost 300$ record better quality video than Canon's best DSLR models (Sony HX9V even shoots 1080p/60p!): http://vimeo.com/24747873

i for one hope they dont split it. I like the dslr formfactor and PRICE. all i need is true 1080p 24p, 1080 60p, the features that come with magic lantern (doubt that will happen) and moire and aliasing fix. Done, thats it. if they do those things alone it would be a game changer.
