New 5D Firmware pulled back by Canon becauseof malfunction

Ooooooooo C functions are cool.......

Yes it is. I use it to save my "video" picture profile (basically Stu Maschwitz's flatten your 5D profile) for quick access.

And now that you've (yes, I'm referring to TimurCivan specifically) pointed out in another thread, other things that help the image quality like color space and metering mode, it becomes even more important (or at least highly convenient) to have your "video settings" saved to a dial. Do you really want to have to double check all your settings every time you bring it out of standby?

For someone like me who also use their camera for stills, the C mode basically becomes video mode while M stays in stills mode.

Deal breaker? no. Highly convenient feature that many people will miss? oh yes.

I have it and can email it to you if you want. PM me your email addy and I'll send it tonight.

PS. It's the Mac version so can't help you if you need the PC version.

Coddida, I PMd you too...could be a lifesaver.:engel017:

Dang...makes me want to switch to the 1D MkIV for shooting our feature.

I saw some ISO noise tests recently between the D3s, the MKII, and the 1DMKIV. The MKII came in 2nd behind the D3s. And that was before the new firmware that a few others agree with me is less noisy than before. About a stop less.

I was using the C mode for my custom setups but I'll take 24p, a higher bit rate and less noise any day over a small convenience. I waited impatiently for 9 months and shot a film the day after I got the update. It's like getting a brand new camera.....a real cine camera.
