C100: New 50mm 1.8 STM lens with Face Detection AF?

So Canon just announced the soon-to-be-released 50mm f/1.8 STM. Doesn't seem to be a very interesting lens at first blush. However, won't that fact that it is STM allow the C100 MK 2 to use face detect autofocus? Will this be a great interview lens for throwing your background out of focus while easily maintaining focus on your subject's face?
 
This lens should be very quiet while the AF is active so this lens might be a good fit for an interview lens on the C100 Mk2.
 
I feel like it won't work with face detect - the 40mm pancake STM doesn't. Only the kit lenses work right now according to the manual.
 
Not sure, but I can confirm that you can only use face detect on the C100 Mark II with the 18-55, 18-135 and 10-18mm STM lenses. Doesn't work with the 24mm pancake either.
