New 16-Page HVX200 Brochure

Funny, still no mention of CCD specs on the 'specifications' page.
I'm sure we're never going to hear the end of that from some people.

Looks like some sort of 4X4 mattebox, probably over $1,000 unfortunately.

From the sound of things (all recording downsampled from 1080/60p), progressive and interlaced are equally sensetive, which basically means that the camera is as sensetive as the dvx in progressive mode. Nice! Also, 14 bit A/D and 19bit DSP? That might add a bit of dynamic range (along with the news gamma). The pixel count I'm sure is very low since they virtually admit as much, but whatever. This thing looks unbelievable.

Also, if 4.2mm=32.5mm for the hvx and 4.5mm=32.5mm for the dvx, it looks like we've got slightly larger (wider) CCDs. So shooting in 16X9 mode on the hvx will be using a considerably larger sensor than 16X9 mode on the dvx.

I'm with you Policar.
Just thought it was interesting that it was glossed over - reminds me of the ol' XL1 days.

But, I'll trade pixels for lattitude any day of the week.

When talking to David Craig(Panasonic Canada's rep) yesterday, he was pretty guarded about giving away any information whatsoever about the chipset, saying it was "proprietary technology" and couldn't be discussed. I'll be very surprised if Jan and Panasonic USA let the proverbial cat out of the bag anytime soon.

If it is never released, someone will eventually lose control, take their HVX200 apart and count the pixels.

AG-HVX200 + two 8GB P2 cards - Package Price $9,995.00. Save $1,500!
650 is card price for bundle 1
500 is card price for bundle 2
650 is card price for bundle 3 WITH 5! cards instead of 1 or 2 cards - that's stupid!
Also stupid that there's no bundle with cam plus one 8gig card - being stupid around the problem of hotswapping as you will practically need 3 cards for that if want to continuously record.... encouraging to buy two but not to buy one 8gig at bundle price, that's petty!
I'm getting the damn thing so don't get me wrong but I have gripes about certain things and also that stupid looking perforated disk that they put on latest model, at the viewfinder casing, it looks like something you'd see on a garden wateringcan - is it a microphone or a speaker - it's so out of character with the rest of the HVX design quality. Surely it could have looked modern and stylish instead - is it too late JJJJJAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!

LUX Rating:

It looks like the HVX has the same LUX rating of 3 as the DVX for low light performance. Any ideas about low light of the HVX compared to the DVX with a different CCD/chipset even with identical Lux rating??

Be careful when shooting scenes with fire, guys... according to the new brochure, in Native mode, the AG-HVX200 records only active flames.
