C100: Nelson, Nevada, ghost town.

A film I've shot in Eldorado, forgotten gold mine, just couple of days after the NAB.
Shot mostly with Canon log on C100, side camera.
Graded in FCP, just 3 way color corrector. All shot at base ISO 850.

Nelson is an exquisite location to shoot in. Lots of films have used it, and there's a fantastic abandoned mine just outside of Nelson. It is the quintessential western look. Looking forward to seeing your footage when it's ready!

Hi Barry! Great place no doubt, I've spent there just three hours, went down to the mine on a short tour, Look forward to be there some day again, to film more!

Thank you, sure, will do, takes some more time to upload to Vimeo full HD, (that and 1080 makes me use more youtube than vimeo)

Great work! I really enjoyed the music choice and editing. Dynamic range from this camera makes shooting those kinds of exteriors a real treat.

I really enjoyed that. Well done. What lenses were you using? Was that a DSLR for the B-cam on the interview, as that was the only shot that just seemed to look different to me?

MatthewB,
the DSLR was Nikon D5200, I took it down to the mine, during the tour, (for stills and video :) C100 does stills but just in JPEG, not RAW, which is a bit disadvantage to DSLR.

off course I do not mind embedding, cheers!

The lens was 24 105 F4, Canon, and 10 17 F 3.5 4.5 Tokina.

Good looking footage and thanks for sharing. How far is this place from Henderson NV? I might take my kids down there for fun.

Nelson isn't too far. I'd say about 30-40 minutes. Here is the website. www.eldoradocanyonminetours.com I've been going there for years. Each year they build and add more to the place. A few lots down is an old fighter pilot graveyard. And if you continue down the road an additional few more miles, you'll hit the river.

I enjoyed the clip and the sinister audio track. I generally like shorter videos when watching them on a computer, but this held my attention. Thanks for sharing.
