Need to do a time lapse scene on C100

This weekend I'm doing a shoot and I need to do a time lapse scene. I've never done a time lapse video scene before. Basically I need to cover about 5 minutes in about 30 seconds. I've read the entire manual and I don't see any specific mention of time lapse functionality.

What is the normal process to achieve this effect on the C100/C300?

Just shoot it as video and then speed it up. One thing you might try is to go with a fairly high shutter speed so you get more of that timelapse still image "stutter" and not a bunch of fast, motion blurred stuff.

Go to the wrench menu. Then "Special Record". Then "Interval Record". You can set it for 1 sec. interval, but that will take more than 5 minutes to get 30 seconds. For the ratio you want you're better off just recording normal and then changing speed in post.

Your better off getting a still camera and using a intervalometer and do it right. Right tool for the job.

My grandpa was a carpenter and used to say he could build a whole house with just his hammer. I guess I'm just a chip off the ole block, lol.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll let you know how it goes.

I believe these are the instructions for a C300, not C100. Do not see this on our camera.

I've got a 7D. Magic lantern is too buggy on it. At least when I tried it it rebooted the camera every five minutes.

If you will have a laptop you can connect your 7D to it and use the EOS utility as an intervalometer. I do it all the time and it works the same on PC and Mac.

Yes, as well as standard time and distance settings (including ramping), you can even trigger your time-lapse due to face recognition or fluctuations in magnetic fields or proximity to metal. In case you need that. And you don't need a separate device, just a cable in your kit.

OK, help a dummy out in a time-sensitive situation. (funny, this post is the first thing that comes up in a Google search)

C100mkII: I can't figure out how to set up for timelapse. I can get into MP4 "special recording" where it does indeed say "slow & fast recording" or similar, AND I have no problem setting up for slo-mo shots. But where is the option for timelapse? Apologies, I'm coming from the FS100 where it was quite intuitive on how to lower the frame rate. What am I missing? I don't see any options for 'interval recording' as mentioned a few posts back. The manual sheds little information.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
