Need some help guys...Can I do it?

For $10,000 US.

HVX200, P2Store, 2x4GB P2 Cards, Redrock Micro, Used Nikon Lenses to start(28mm, 50, 80), Mattebox w/rails for Micro.

Already own a setup of HVX and 5 4GB Cards. Have a case and stix. This would give me a second cam and launch me into the whole 35mm adapter zen.

I do mostly commercial work with corporate event videography.:dankk2:

I can usually get for cheaper than most online pricing, but not huge difference.

What is an affordable matte box with rails? They are usually overpriced. I need rails for the M2, right?

The 1,300 REDROCK price is the HD indie package that comes with your choice of mount, support rails, the HD Achromatic lens, and of course the M2. Also comes with a hat!

Alone the M2 is 500.

So rails are included in this estimate. Just to comment and ask, these estimates are close to what i have seen but a little better. Where can i ask are these from. I have only seen 5,500 for hvx, and 600 a pop for the p2 cards. Where is this little money saver?

Some Items were generic and were requests for examples of matte boxes or estiimates on used nikon lenses. Guess I was not specific enough.

I do know how to add.
 
Also, on M2. What size should my mattebox be to attach correctly? Will it still be 82mm. I want to use nikon lenses...
 
Prepost... I think you can do it for that price for everything including the matte box.. but it would only leave you a couple of hundred bucks or less for the primes. To get some decent used primes on top I'd say you'd be around 10,500-11K. I was able to get my HVX, 2 P2 cards, P2store, 2 extra batteries and 3 chargers all for 8K.

I too am looking to get the other stuff and will probably get either the format or the indi-snap matte box...


Good luck on getting your 2nd HVX... Lord knows I'd like to have that problem too...
 
The the Achromatic lens is just a piece of the M2 kit that makes it kick ass even more. I do not think you can get a mattebox and keep the price under 10k. I think you are looking at 11k area.

I'll do a recap: (all estimates cuz i dont feel like looking up the exact price. :) )

HVX: 5,500
M2 kit: 1,295- everything except Follow focus ($645), shim kit ($35) , and stepdown ring ($7-12)
2-4gig P2 cards: $1200
Mattebox: No estimate because of wide range. Plan for $300 or more to be safe.
You mentioned the P2 store didnt you? That is 1,500
Nikon lenses are a wide price range, for the 4 lenses you want give a budget of 600 or more, but look for deals and you may be able to go lower!

5,500----HVX
1,295----M2
35----Shim kit
12----Adapter ring
1,200----P2 cards
------------------------
8,043 without follow focus (645), mattebox (?), p2store (1,500), or lenses (?)

Looks like if you plan accordingly and deal hunt, you can achieve 10k or a little over. Remember tax and shipping! Good luck

It's good to have paid it off by now. And looking towards 2nd purchase.

It's sunday, shouldn't you be in church? I'm here in the booth during service writing this while the band is Rockin out.

Thanks, I'll look at the formatte. The indie looks cheap to me.
