Need some camera advice.

Shooting a conceptual/stylish music video and want a high DR image to grade with. It's low budget, was thinking about renting a Red Scarlet. But my computer doesn't like .3rd and I've never used Red so it doesn't feel like the best option. Also, renting all I need will be (fairly) expensive for the days of shooting.

The options I'm looking at :

- Canon DSLR with cinestyle & 720p. I guess it works... but it's not great.

- 5dmk3 raw. Does it properly work in 720p? I fooled around with it before I sold my 5d last year, it was so-so but maybe development have come a long way by now? Are there any of the cheaper Canons able of 720p like the 6D?

- Panny GH4... my GH3 image breaks pretty easily when grading. Maybe it's a little bit better on GH4+1080 60p. Pure speculation. Is there any raw footage for download out yet?

- Does BMCC offer any slo-mo feautre yet (no?) Would have been perfect...

Aaah man, I hate choices. Why can't one camera do everything for 500 bucks :)

Why 720p? Most of these record softer images with more artifacts when shooting 720p, so I guess it's because you need higher frame rates. If that's so, I'd say the D5300, A6000 and GH4 are the best alternatives on a tight budget. None of them uses a particularly robust codec. The next step up may be the a7s, which shoots 1080p60 with a very nice codec and with slog2, but it's not available yet and the price is still unknown.

It's the cheapest of all the cameras I mentioned.
In fact, my NEX-5N has a similar image and also shoots 1080p60... and those go for around $250 on ebay. The A6000 has less aliasing/moire (not really bad on my 5N, but it's there) and hopefully a faster sensor with less rolling shutter issues.

edit: Oh, wait, you mean the a7s... That one's still a mystery.
