Need pro advice about camera purchase for going into the wild

I would vote for the NEX-7 with the sigma 30mm f/2.8: it's a beast for stills, the lens is super sharp, and it has a viewfinder (my nex-5n needs a loupe for the LCD, which makes it huge). It can go inside a very small pouch bag, together with a couple of extra batteries or a set of 46mm ND filters, or the 19mm f/2.8 if you can't live just with a normal-FoV lens.

For some info about its video capabilities, since it's very close to the 5N:

No idea about the weather sealing, compared with the other options discussed here (none of them even good enough for demanding situations, I would think)

For a carry around, high quality HD camera, I think it is very very difficult to beat something like the NEX-7 right now. I have used most of the popular HDSLR's, and only the NEX is small enough that I would bring it along for no reason.... and that is precisely the kind of camera I like to have around!!! Something like the 60D is small, but still requires some sort of "saddle bag", meanwhile may not even have the same image quality (i've never compared them directly.

I love, love, love having the EVF! (btw, the EVF on the NEX and the J1 are better IMO than the C100 EVF, FWIW). The 1D-C is the lightest 4k camera I have ever used, but we're still talking Man-Purse mobility. An NEX could fit in your pants pocket, with the lens in the other: no bags if you wanted to go that way. That is freedom. That is getting the moment.

Oh, I forgot to mention: if pocketable is what you want, look at the Sony RX100, it's a very fine camera

Thanks for al the great input, I think I'm pretty much set now and if the BMPCC or the new OMD shows up I might modify, otherwise this is my kit for the trip.
