I was wondering if anyone has any experience with creating digital effects that are of good use for an experiemental film project. I am namely concerned with creating layers of video distortion for my images... My mind goes to the layers of static distortion used by Chris Cunningham in the Autechre video for Second Bad Vibel or even more recently to the new Nine Inch Nails video for The Hand that Feeds... Is that all done in post? If so, with what program and how? Or are there things that one can do in camera, namely the XL2, that lend themselves to that type of textured aesthetic? I'm going to be shooting some stuff for an avant-garde dance company that will require these sorts of things and my experience is limited solely to 16mm. I would really appreciate some feedback or maybe if someone could even point me in the right direction. Thanks!
