Need Help P2 Card...

Hi,


I need some info on how to import footage from the P2 Card. Also, the actual P2 drive is not showing on my desktop.

What do I need to do????

PC or Mac?

Panasonic recommends using USB 2.0 for PC and firewire for Mac.

Also, is it a 16 or 32GB card? You might have to download an update from Panasonic.


Once you figure that part out you just open the P2 card like it's a normal drive and copy LAST CLIP and the Contents folder to your HDD. Make sure you copy LAST CLIP...tis important.

There's also a program that does it but I can't remember the name now.
 
8G P2 Card using a MAC OSX Tiger using Firewire. Problem is the P2 Drive is not showing on the desktop so we can import its content.
 
I haven't worked with FCP and P2 but I think you could try going to 'log and capture.' I think I remember seeing that on a forum somewhere here. Not sure if that info will help at all but I'm sure someone with FCP P2 knowledge will chime in soon.
 
plug it in via firewire. then turn the camera on, put it in mcr mode. then after it goes into mcr mode(vcr mode) press and hold the button again, the screen will say "1394 connect" card should mount.

note: make sure you turn on the write protect on your card before doing this.
 
Let's clarify:

1. Are you trying to mount from a p2 store, or from the HVX200 via Fireiwre

2. Have you put the cam in the Firewire connect mode?

3. Have you installed the drivers?

4. Have you push and held down the MCR mode button to get that mode, and then held again until the firewire connect screen appears?

5. What version of FCP are you using?
 
90% of the time this problem is actually a couple combined:
