Hi. I'm considering to buy a GH2 camera so I can get rid on my Sony dsr-pd170. Any recommandation on lenses for wedding and events (dance competitions) shootings ? As long as it's fast enough and good for low light shooting.

Thanks for your answers.

Thanks David. What are the big advantages for those 3 ? Sorry if the question looks silly, but I've never uses a DSLR/Mirror less cam before, or even cams with chageable lenses. Also, what band woul you recommand and are they m4/3 ?

i shoot events/weddings. I use a GH3 and a G6. I have a Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 and a 35-100mm f2.8. In the evenings, I need a prime lens too, so I have an Olympus 45mm f1.8. I'll eventually be getting an Olympus 17mm 1.8 too. All these are MFT lenses. I also use a Canon T3i with a Tokina 11.16mm for a nice wide shot, so for weddings I'm always with a 3 camera set up during the service and speeches, can't take any chances!

if you need low light for receptions (dances, speeches, cake cutting etc...) i would go with the panasonic 25mm 1.4. Then for the ceremony you will need to be able to zoom in but also get good shots in low light so the 35-100mm is nice. If you mainly do outdoor weddings the 14-140 will be cheaper and cover your wide and closeups.

for audio: insead of buying a $550 wireless setup, you can buy the $100 zoom h1 and the $40 giant squid lav and have the groom wear it in his pocket, then sync in post.

Let me start by saying, I am by no means a professional wedding videographer. But I shot a wedding in the not too distant past for a well know celeb's family, and I used 5 cameras to cover the event. I couldn't fathom trying to shoot a wedding with a single camera. I am also not a big fan of investing in M4/3 glass, since I also use cameras with larger size sensors, so the majority of my prime lenses are all full frame capable, and most of my zooms are at least APS-C or better. The only native M4/3 lens I own is the 14-140mm which was bundled with my original GH1.

Hi PegLeg. Are those lenses of yours are good enough to film dances & music shows, or just weddings ?

Thanks to let me know.
