Need gh17 hack help

I have the 2011 model gh1, with the 2011 serial code.
i have downloade the latest ptool and ipowells 24p settings. when i open ptool on load the firmware, open ipowells patch change the version increment to 10 then save as GH1__135

I put the card in the camera format it, take one picture and one video (i have also tried without taking a picture and video) put it in my computer, and i save the GH1__135 file to the memory card (not in any of the folders) i put it in the camera and hold the play button for 5 seconds but nothing happens, it just goes to playback screen.
I have also tried saving as different version increments and file numbers, battery is also fully charged.

Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong, or how i can make it work?
cheers

Also a GH17 noob here/haven't hacked yet...
The only thing different I see from the instructions posted is they mention to put the file in the SD card "root". Guess would need clarification on what that is/if relevant.

i go to the website and download ptool, i only see one download link, when i open it says version 3.51d (291110) is this right?
also i don't see anywhere to select 'new body patch'

My last post has the link: PTool 3.55d
You need that and the Panasonic GH1__132.bin firmware to do the hack.

Additional patches, such as lpowell's 24p blackout patch, are optional upon installation.

Good to hear it worked out, Bush Pig.

I'm going to use your thread title to ask anyone who knows, when we reinstall the firmware be it for a new patch or reinstall original firmware - do we just put the card in and it overwrites the previous version? I mean, we don't have to keep going back to version GH1__132 before each patch change, right?

I installed the first patched version as GH1__135. Now, when I put in a new patch I will call it GH1__136. If I want to go back to 135, do I just put that card in and it will change to GH1__135 or would I have to first rename it GH1__137? This part about "one higher" and changing patches on the fly is what I am not clear about.

So, the last available slot is GH1__999? This may not matter depending on the answer to the first part.

That's correct, there is no need to reinstall the original Panasonic firmware GH1__132.bin into the camera, you can install any patched version directly. The only "version increment" that is required is the patch by that name in PTool, which should be set to 10 in PTool v3.55d. In addition, make sure the first three patches in PTool are checked on. The number in the firmware filename is meaningless, you can rename it to any number you like so long as you conform to the filename template of "GH1__xxx.BIN", where xxx is any three-digit number.

Excellent! Thanks, lpowell.

I have your Reliability patch installed and will be installing the blackout patch.
Thanks very much for your efforts.

I loaded the patched firmware, pressed play button for 5 seconds and nothing happened..

EDIT: Ahh figured out.. need to check all 3 boxes at the top for the newer bodies
