Need fast help with 24F and 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pull down

My XH A1 is arriving within the hour (woohoo). I have a test shoot for class tonight and I'll have less than 2 hours to work with the camera before we have to load equipment.

I am either going to shoot in 24F or 30F tonight. We are doing an experiment with matching framerates from Sony V1U, Z1U, F900, my A1 and the HVX200 all shooting different framerates.

Okay, long story short, I am confused about 24F 2:3, and 24F 2:3:3:2. Which mode produces 23.98fps, and which produces 24fps?

2:3 and 2:3:3:2 denote pulldown pattern. When shot in HD mode, 24F has no pulldown, it is outputted as 23.976 fps native. When shot in SD mode, you are given two pulldown choices. Shoot 2:3:3:2 for best quality.

So, if I shoot Hd 24f and use the downconvert-funtion in the camera, will it be outputted 23.976 or 24f? or do I have to use one on the pulldown methods.....

It automatically uses a 2:3 pulldown to embed in a 60i stream. Unfortunately you will not be able to remove those frames in your NLE (Premiere for sure) because Canon forgot to put pulldown flags on those frames. They'll have to be manually remove by other software. I seldom downconvert from 24F because of this issue.
