Looking for the best baseplate system to be able to mount and use Red and other large PL lenses with the AF 100. Any and all advice and experiences would be very helpful.

You'll probably need 15mm Studio rod spacing vs. 15mm LWS, but if your matte box and follow focus are 15mm LWS, this makes things a bit more complicated. So, typical setups like this would require PL-mount supported by 15mm LWS, base plate to get AF100 lens height proper, then, below the 15mm LWS base plate, a 15mm Studio base plate/rods and dove tail.

We use Hot Rod Cameras AF100 Tuner Kit, Element Technica 12" dove tail and 15mm base plate hybrid system, so it can configure for 15mm LWS, Studio and 19mm, Zacuto 15mm Studio lens support and Abel Cinetech 15mm Studio to LWS adapters for matte box and follow focus. Expensive, but flexible enough to use just about any large PL zoom. And, of course, a decent capacity fluid head like a Sachtler Video 20, or even bigger, like a Sachtler Studio 7+7.

I have a double setup.
I use a Zacuto universal baseplate with 15mm LW rods.
When I need more support I mount an Allstar Arri style baseplate with dovetail and 19mm rods below the Zacuto.
I'm also using the Hot Rod Camera PL mount.

Good Luck!

Dave

I use the Letus PL mount adapter with either an O'connor baseplate or Zacuto mini universal plate mounted on an Arri dove tail sliding base plate with appropriate lens support adapters on Studio 15m rods. I have a Cooke 20-100 zoom which I have used frequently on my AF with no problems using the above mentions supports.

would anyone who has the setup with zacuto or similar 15mm lws baseplate, and combined with the arri dovetail setup, be able to post any pictures? Im contimplating going a similar route and would like to see how some are setup.
