GH4 Need Advice on Camera Motion Control System for Slider

I am doing a ton of interviews with my GH4 on green screen and I want to add a powered motion control system fro the Cinevate slider I now have or with a slider that has the motion control built in. I need to have a system that has the ability to do a powered pan so that it keeps the subject in the same framing.

I called Cinevate but their system for the slider I have, does not do the motorized pan.

I have looked at the "One Man Crew" by Redrock, but the reviews were so bad due to motor noise that I will not consider it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd also like to hear comments on this. I saw a demo for a curved track that took the camera in an arc around the subject and rotated the camera to keep it focused on the subject. Was that the Redrock Micro? I feel like I remember it being more curved than that, but I could be wrong. As someone who shots a lot of talking head stuff for our church, I've thought many times of investing in a camera control system.

Yes, it's the Redrock Micro "One Man Crew" which is supposed to work quite well, but your subject is always a fixed distance away from the device. ( I can't remember the details, but I think it's always 6 feet from the device )

I have and use that same panner/tilter and found it wonderful for the money

The BESCOR listed 2 up

The Cinetics? Can it be programmed for use in interviews to keep the subject in the same framing and does it move very, very slowly? Also, is the motor silent?

I saw that one on B&H, did you use it with a motorized slider system? Or on it's own to do pans and tilts?

Have not done a lot of actually filming with it, but will be using it on slider and crane a LOT on my next project. The slider makes some noise, the pan tilt head is pretty quiet, but it makes some noise, but I plan to have remote audio anyway. I'd prefer to have an all in one $1600 one, but that is just not in my cards, so I am maximizing this cheap pan/tilt heads use. I can mount it on a slider, locked at one end, slider on a tripod on its other end, and have a 4 foot insta-jib - lots of possibilites

Well, what I am discovering is that every system seems to make too much motor noise for me to use in my small, green screen interview studio. Even a lab will pick up the kind of noise I am hearing in some of the test videos online.

Look at the Edelkrone slider. It has add-on modules for parallax pans, and motor control. It's reasonably priced, and has a clever mechanism that allows for twice as much travel as the physical length, provided that it's on a tripod, hi hat, etc. This'll be one of my next investments.

These are great links. Thanks. I see guys on Vimeo and what not doing diagonal or even vertical timelapses. Which sliders do they use?

For timelapse (ie still images used to create a video) then any motorised slider will do.

However, the original question was in relation to tracking a subject when shooting a real-time video.
