Nebula 4200 Gimbal Stabilizer Announcement (DVXUser Sponsor)

I know this promotional flyers of the nebula but have not seen any convincing footage yet. Before I spend my money - and I am in the market for a gimbal - I would like to see some reviews of this new concept.

I just clicked on this thread, so I am a couple of weeks late with the translation of the Russian link .... but, to sum it up a la (late) Roger Ebert, "He hated, hated, hated it".

The 4th axis spring broke (didn't handle the Russian demands, according to the reviewer); the handles were too small and too slippery to the touch; the metal was OK (they would still prefer lathed rather than molded) but the paint on it was not up to par; the connecting clamps often jammed and they felt were prone to breaking in the long run.

Overall, to quote the (late) Gene Siskel, "Thumbs down. Way way down".

BTW, one can "auto translate" from Russian, using the CC function. The auto translation doesn't work flawlessly, however. It often misses the "not" in the "we did not like" commentary due to failing to grasp the Russian syntax and grammar.

I (stupidly) pre-ordered one of these from Filmpower. After looking at the footage and the Russian review, I decided to rescind the order. I contacted the company and was told the unit had NOT shipped yet, so I asked to cancel the order. Here is their reply:

Hello,
The first time you pre-order our product is mean you interested it, but now we already delivery, you said you want to cancel order.
In my opinion, when you receive it and test, if you don't like it, return is ok.

You decide for yourself if this is a reputable company. I complained, of course, that they have no right to tell me that I'm still interested in the product and demanded a refund. We'll see what happens.

^ I was about to post that same hands-on test by Ben Von Wong, but in the facebook version XDDD

I'm extremely impressed by how well the spring thing works.

Looking forward to good use the Nebula Spring Arm, and taken more wonderful videos.

The Nebula Spring Arm has a 1/4 inch screw hole. We could connect the monitor in the middle of the spring. Which is very convenient to watch the image when we are shooting.

This does look really good and also functions the same as the 4th axis on the Helix. Definitely interesting. When is it going to be released?

That looks really good. Any chance this unit has the ability to control the roll axis. I would love a joystick option like the Helix.

I'm seeing vertical footsteps motion so I'm not sure if the handle springs are working properly.
If you translate the Japanese it would some that they noted that issue.

Filmpower should do a setup example showing the impact of setting up the spring response properly.

Aren't these things shipping in the US yet? I preordered the CAME TV Single and was disappointed. Lesson learned, I am looking forward to a proper review of the single-handed 4200 before parting with my cash.

Wireless thumb controller will be coming soon. An additional feature, soon available for the 4200 series, is an optional wireless thumb controller. Simple to use, this wireless thumb controller will not allow for easier, more intuitive control. It will also feature a camera record button.
