ND fader on the outside of the kit lens?

This is what I want. I want an adapter that goes on the outside of the kit lens where the lens shade is attached. I then want to attach a ND Fader to it so it is easy to adjust with my big fingers.

Does something like this exist? If not, would there be a market for it? You can make one and give me the first working prototype as a commission.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I would just love to be able to twist the lens shade to adjust the fader.

There is a solution.

First of I would recommend to get the 77mm or 82mm Fader so you can use it on all lenses. 77mm is common pro diameter but some lenses go to 82mm.

Step 2 get a stepring 62mm->77mm (or 82mm).

Step 3 buy one of the screw-on hoods from ebay.

No you can turn the hood to adjust the fader-ND.

Do note that the 77mm has a front thread of 82mm.
Anyone know the difference of attaching a polarizer to the front or back of the fader nd?
