NBA Playoffs Thread

Noooooooooo but its cool I just wanted to see the lakers win in seven but still great to see the C's win a title again.

Should Jackson get fired? Two finals in a row his teams have underperformed.
It was obvious from the start the Celtics were better, but they sure weren't 39 points better. That's a disgrace and an embarrassment to the franchise.

Phillip didn't do it; it was Kobe's dismal showing that kept them from contention.

The Jordan comparsions are officially dead.

BOSTON BABY!

Lakers off-season 2DO list:

1) Gasol to the weight room to gain strength.

2) Kobe to the personality room to gain a personality.

3) Bynum to get healthy and clog the lane and swat shots.

4) Vlad Ramonovich to get traded.

5) Odom to stop clubbing during the finals.

6) Fire Jackson. Great coaches don't lose by 40 points or give up 24 point leads.

Agree with all of these except fire Phil... pretty sure this wasn't his fault.

1) Gasol to the weight room to gain strength.

I don't know if he can bulk up. He's got the freak of nature metabolism type and is 28 in July. No amount of Whey will help this dude.

Gasol is a stud.

KG, Perkins and Posey guarding him is the main reason. Boston's "D" was awesome.

2) Kobe to the personality room to gain a personality.

Never happen. He's a prima donna who alienates his teammates. I had zero remorse for him watching him walk off the court; it's already being spun in one article that he had no help and he was double teamed, blah blah

Jordan was double and tripled his entire career. Rad was the only Laker with a sub par game. Odom wasn't too great from the field but got to the line, grabbed boards and dished all night.

Kobe once again, disappeared. I need a new nickname for him:

The Ghost ?
Hoffa ?

3) Bynum to get healthy and clog the lane and swat shots.

Bynum is a stud. Laker fans hope he isn't injury prone.

4) Vlad Ramonovich to get traded.

Agreed.

5) Odom to stop clubbing during the finals.

LOL

Phil misses Mike.

Wow, that was an ass kicking.

Been a pretty big year for sports in Boston, Sox won the World Series, Pats went 16-0 but lost the superbowl on a last minute drive and Celtics won the NBA championship, too bad the Bruins suck, although they did make the playoffs this year, so that does count for something.

Looks like your god was an angry, vengeful god.

LOL

I'm sure glad I didn't watch the game last night, and instead went out to Gordon Biersch with some lady friends. I bet all my buddies were huddled around the living room, pissed off in silence.

I disagree with most... I think Kobe took it like a man. The biggest problem in the series was LA's lack of defensive intensity... specifically Gasol and Odom. I think Kobe played as hard as anyone on LA and actually didn't take a million shots... He passed to his teammates who didn't want to step up. As much as I wanted LA to win, Boston just wanted it more. Not more than Kobe, though, but more than Gasol and Odom and Radmanovich. The Lakers are very young... Watch out for them next year.

I don't know anymore about being afraid of Kobe after that series. I think that Lebron is about to start snatching up trophys for awhile. That man is on the rise and was within a hair of beating the Celtics with a cast much inferior to the Lakers.

Plus there are alot of new teams on the rise. The Hornets, Jazz, Rockets, and Blazers will all be better next year in the West. I also think that the Spurs will find a way to re-up a couple younger players to replace the dusty vets, and Ginobilli healthy is a much better Spurs team than the WC finals version.

I think that this is the last time we will see Kobe in the finals.

It's hard to put a measure on who wanted it more; Garnett ? Allen ? Pierce ? To say Kobe wanted wanted it more than these guys sounds like a stretch. While they have gotten all of the criticism over the years, everyone has been sucking Kobe off praising him as the seconed coming; comapring him to Mike.

Kobe is the floor leader and choked. It isn't the first time he literally just disapeared from a game.

Lebron is starving, Iverson and Carmello. But Boston just may be doing this for a few years.

Kobe choked.

One can hope.

I don't think the Lakers are even the second best team right now, I think Detroit would have knocked them off, locking them up the same way the Celtics did.

Next year? if the Spurs can keep their trio and get some fresh legs, and if Bynum stays healthy and is good as he seemed (just before getting hurt) I'll still vote for them as the two best teams.

Who here thinks Chris Paul could have broken down the Celtics interior D? Woulda been a better series.
