Native P2 Editing in FCP2!

Anyone else notice that little piece of Zen in the supported I/O functions in the tech specs.

Says "Native editing for P2 at 1080i 50/60/VFR and 720p 24/24N/25/25N/30/VFR from P2 cards"

and

"P2 import dialog with browse, mark, and background ingest"

Love the background ingest!
 
I doubt that Final Cut Pro 2 had that P2 support in the fine print...

Though I'm scanning my FCP3 box for hidden RED support.

There's definitely *not* native support for P2 in FCP2. In the Panasonic booth, I spoke with the Apple engineer who wrote the P2 Import feature. In FCP6, it's gone, replaced by something called "Log and Transfer" but it looks almost exactly the same as the current P2 Import. I think there were a couple of new features but I've forgotten what they here. Regardless, the process of importing media from P2 cards is the same in FCP6 as it is today.
