NAB 2013 predictions?

Time to see how I did on my predictions:

[
QUOTE=vanvideo;1986286394]My predictions, based upon hearsay, rumor and a lot of guessing:

On the camera front:

Panasonic 4K Varicam. No, but there is a new Varicam

Canon C200. No

Canon XF 300/305 replacement or major upgrade. Maybe 1/2" chips? No

Sony full frame sensor NXCAM, preferably in the EA50 body with ND filters. No

Sony PMW300 - replacement for the EX3. Maybe next year. No, but possible by NAB '14

JVC will be happy with the HM650, but the sensors from this camera in a shoulder mount design can't be far off. Maybe

Perhaps a Sony NX5U replacement. No

Hopefully more info on the consumer 4K cams from Panasonic and Sony. No, but Sony did display some new 4K mockups

Arri Alexa 4K. No

The one I feel most confident about is the full frame NXCAM. But it's still just a guess. Um, no
But I did predict the HPX600! Except the single sensor part.

Lots of 4K monitors and editing solutions.[/QUOTE]

Wow, so much for my prognosticating skills. Just call me Nostra-dumbass.
C'mon guys, let's see how you did.

Well, I thought that GoPro would demo an interchangeable-lens, 24p/30p, 4K camera, but at a far lower price point than even BMPC's. I guess I struck out, too.

It's seems many manufacturers believe that the NAB event is not the ideal time to announce their latest products as it can get lost in the mire of information...

Blackmagic have literally stormed the show and put down the gauntlet... If the image lives up to the specs, it will be amazing for filmmakers..I will say however that this camera is not for everyone..

Another tweet about Canon:

Maybe some sort of buy in program?

Well, my only guess was this, and I ended up getting it right. Canon is pretty predicable now (and was before, they just didn't do these rebates before). Sell their cameras at a premium, hardcore Canon guys and guys who put a priority on ease of use (I'm not saying that's a bad thing) will buy it at the premium, and then announce a instant rebate on the camera, making it slightly more reasonably priced.
