My very first chroma-key

Here's a video podcast I did tonight - my first chroma-key! I did a quick 5-minute job in Final Cut, and fortunately it was easier than I thought. There are definitely some flaws in the video but I was happy considering it's my first time and I didn't spend much time at all tweaking the chroma key. Here's a link to the clip (shot in 30p):

And here's a photo of my "set" off in a corner of the living room :)

You can see that the two sheets overlap to form a dark bar. I slapped it up fast because I couldn't wait to try it out. Now that I'm no longer a "virgin" I'll fix it and get it nice and smoothed out and uniform.

Cute, Ok you got me to watch you demo. The green screen worked well and looks good. I used to run the telemarketing group for The Nord Group. A washington based insurance company that sold mostly long term care and some other products. We used all warm calling for our agents. Old school in buying the lead cards. The owner owned part of the company that generated the leads.

Your demo looks good, great job.

wow not bad for your first time and on the dvx. Imagine what an HVX could do! I like it, good job!

Nice setup. I think most of use have shot on a set like that at least once!

..Though I'm curious as to what effect you used to have the person invisible on the photo, but show up on camera LCD? I think you may have missed the point of "Green screen" slighty! :cheesy:

I think the key looks great! Was the audio on that clip from the lav? If so I would hang some sound blankets around the set to minimize the 'apartment echo.' Nice work!

Ahh yes, me on the viewfinder ... lol ... I was playing back the footage for review when I took that photo :-)

I've got a Rode VideoMic, I agree, there's definitely some echo so I'll probably use a king-size bed comforter to alleviate that. The issue is the next room which is the entryway, it's separated by a half-wall and has a hardwood floor. However I'm stuck in that corner of the house since it's the only place where I can plug in all three lights, on three different circuits so I don't trip any breakers ... lol

Now that's pretty funny right there. Classic stuff
