My tape just came apart....IN THE CAMERA.

Hello guys.

I filmed some pretty nice shots yesterday that I was planning on using for me demo reel.

Today I went and put the DVX in VCR mode and it said something like "S reel lock"...it scared me. I then opened the tape door and found something that made me even more scared. THE TAPE (the actual TAPE) was coming out from the "tape". It wasn't too long.

What caused this?

Is my camera ok?

What about the tape?....I reeled the tape back up and idk if some footage is still obtainable?

Help please.

play it in a cheap mini dv camera (that uses the type of tape u are usuing) and see if it plays. Dont bother chancing it in the dvx. i duno what s reel lock is...my manual isnt around. check the manaul or google it. Perhaps someone will come along and explain.

I have some balls and just went for it in the DVX...idk where my capture camera is. It played fine with a few glitches where the tape came out....

I still would like to know what happened though.

The tape probably had a little kink or bend in it somewhere and it popped out, simple as that. The tape was garbage
