My new website and my first movie poster

Hi I have just made my first all flash website and this is the address http://www.firstclassrail.com/studioqmedia and the movie poster can be seen at

http://www.touchofthedragon.com ,this is my first attempt at a

movie poster and the second time I've used Indesign.

The website is for my business and the poster is an exercise to learn how

to create this kind of stuff. I bought the name a while back and hope to

develop it someday. I registered a two page synopsis with the WGA for it.

I know that I used the most common fonts but I'll

change it later. I had fun with this and would like to get some feed back

on the site and the poster.

The Flash site is very nicely done. Did you use a template that you purchased or did you create it from scratch? Overall a nice look. But don't forget that Flash sites cannot be googled as search engines don't value Flash sites. You may want to embed your Fash site on an Index page that is HTML that clients can search for and then choose whether to stay HTML or proceed to your Flash site. Flash only, is great for Disney because of the brand name, but for the rest of us looking for business, search engines still drive the internet economy.

If you do the HTML Index page, don't forget to use keywords in the text of your page and fully describe what you do. Also, getting connections from other sites pointing to you raises your search score dramatically. Make sure your name is on that Index page as well if you don't have any others so that people that only know your name have a chance of finding you.

As for your poster, very cool. I think I would also like to see some action scene from the movie composited into the picture as well to better indicate or give a feel for what the production is about (I assume martial arts). I think replacing the lower graphic with that might be a good choice (when you get that far!) and try to have it fade into the background and upper graphic (which I like a lot). I think the lower graphic is a little overkill and takes away from the upper. Otherwise, very eye-catching. Design is a lot harder than it looks, isn't it!

Hey, like the movie poster. But I feel its ruined by the font that you have used. "the Mix" seems over stretched.

Thanks for the comment... point well taken. I thought it was too. Any suggestions on a different font? This is my first attempt at a movie poster and it needs a bunch of tweaking. I never realized there were so many styles of posters out there until I really started looking at them from a design perspective.
