My new TILTA killer riig

The ProAim cage is, what I had before.
Worked for me, since my HVX days, but the Tilta gear was so more sexy, had that v-lock plate and I had some money burning holes in my pocket.

Build quality is leagues better than proaim too.
I find it pretty interesting that the Chinese stopped copying stuff and start to make their own designs now.

hello Frank,
can you tell us if the Tilta base plate is adjustable in both the X and Y axis? I can see in the pictures on their website that you can adjust the rods in the Y axis, but can you offset in the X-axis? either the rods or the camera plate?

and what about the holes in the base plate? is it 1/4-20 holes in which we could screw accessories?

Thanks

The rods can be moved on the y (up and down) axis and the camera on the Z (back and forth) axis, but not sideways.
Tilta has an other plate with offset rods that can be adjusted sideways though.

Are these rods 15mm or 19mm? Small print says they 'come with a 19mm adapter' but I really can't make out if they're 15mm or 19mm rods on the image..

Can you mount the rig on a tripod without a V mount plate ? Do you feel it would be stable or wobbling? Is there screw holes under the quick release plate like on the similar Trusmt baseplate ? Thank you for sharing the info !!

Yeah, looks similar to the Trusmt.
It´s not as stable as on the v-lock plate, but absolutely workable.

hello ! i hope it will not be too rude to ask, but that would be great if you could post a video of that tilta rig with some good close ups! unfortunately there is almost no any info about that great shoulder rig... not even good pics...

1 question: the only thing that little concerns me, the back part of the shoulder support/base plate - that little back part where u attach the rods - its seems like it connects to the rest of the unit with just 3 small screws.... its just not looks like u can put alot of weigh on it in order to balance the camera.....

thw whole unit looks like 1 solid peace, but that little back part does look strange, hmm why would they do it......

Just when I thought there were no more options I come across this thread for a shoulder mount that puts the camera over your shoulder. Here is what I am thinking of doing. I plan to get a Berkey plate, top handle and something to attach to the top handle to hold an EVF. I don't particularly like the cage designs I have been seeing and prefer to attach the top handle directly. Then I want to get a side handle like the one Olof makes to attach to the rods. Finally, I need to get some kind of baseplate to allow for the V-lock attachment to my Sachtler tripod. If anyone can think of a reason this setup will not work, please enlighten me. The Tilta seems very close to Olof's rig, but I don't know how much longer it will take for him to complete his. BTW: Does anybody know what is the best way to attach a V-mount adapter to a tripod without breaking the bank?

I got my Tilta rig for days of searching some affordable solution. This forum is a god bless :) Shipped to Estonia about 4-5 working days. Did a first job at weekend and it's working very well with Kinotehnik's LCDVFe :)

I'm interested in this rig, however can you confirm that it needs an external monitor for a comfortable use with FS-100?
