Pretty freakin' sweet looking.

Did it come with the V-mount tripod plate or did you already have that?

No, I have the plate from my old DigiBeta.

I think TILTA goes into the right direction. Shoulder pad under the camera and V-Snap mechanism instead of semi-pro fastplates.

This and that Star Wars design made me buy this thing. I wish it had some sort of laser on it though ;-)

Out of curiosity how are you going to monitor/focus when that's on your shoulder? Seems like it might be set a bit far back, it's difficult to tell.

cheers

I'd be interested to know how those handles perform, Frank. I'm looking to get a new set of articulating handles and have not had much luck finding anything decent, short of O'Connor's O'Connor-priced O-Grips. I bought a pair of articulating handles from the same guy who makes the HDMI Splitter and V-mount plate all-in-one package you found on eBay, and those handles turned out to be not up to the task. They either get stuck when you need to adjust them or slip when you need them to stay locked down - very disconcerting when your camera jolts after the handles come unlocked.

The TILTA handles look like they borrow some pointers from the Element Technica design - http://elementtechnica.mybigcommerce.com/products/MANTIS-Hand-Held-Kit.html I like the idea of using locking rosettes.

plus one for Huang. I'm waiting for the mattbox from her too. :)

@Joel Pelletier: There is another vendor in Canada that also carry Titla product (a bit cheaper/faster since they're using USPS Priority)

I ordered the shoulder base from them. Or you can view Tilta product directly from their website. One thing i have to say is tilta product is SOLID, not cheap design/material like Trusmt/lanparte

Thanks for that link.

Looking at the price of the TILTA handles - I'm not so sure. That's the same price I paid for a pair of articulating handles that really just suck. I'll have to wait for some reviews/feedback on these before I buy anything TILTA-branded.

I had the ET handles on a RED that we rented and I have to say that the Tilta handles are absolute in the same league with ET, RED, ARRI gear.
If you tie them down, everything is absolutely rock solid. I saw a post on Cinema5D when someone said, they have a bit play at the rods, don´t know if they fixed that problem, or if he just had a bad one. Mine have no play at all. I would feel comfortable to hold the whole rig including camera and all over a bridge from one handle.
The rosettes hold everything in place. Build quality and finish is amazing.

Thanks, Frank!

Oh, one more thing Jordan. The tilta handles have 3 rosettes. So you only have 3 angles to play with, not infinite angles like ball joints.
That may be restricting for some guys, depending where and how you want to angle them.

Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Yea, I noticed that. Good point. Although, I'd rather sacrifice a bit of rotary adjustment for the peace of mind that it will stay put when I want it to stay put.

Baeplate $ 236
Cage $200
Handles $263
Top handle $80

plus shipping (was $120 express shipping to Germany)

just requested a quote for the baseplate and handles to me in the US. I LOVE the baseplate. That puts my camera exactly where I want it. Thanks for the heads up on these!!!!

Yeah, it´s so sexy, isn't it?

I`m still not able, to get that silly grin of my face.

How much taxes did you pay for this ? It comes from Hong Kong ? Also interested in this rig, very cool looking, and seems very stable!.

Depends on the rules in your country - here in Germany it was 19% VAT plus custom duties - about 200 bucks.
