Hey y'all,

Last year I won Canon New Zealand's Eyecon competition. Of course, I see a tonne of problems and there are lots of things I dislike about the film - but I figured I'd post it anyway. I'd love all your feedback (however harsh).

As a side note; it is meant to be quite ambiguous, and if the plot details itself are unclear to you, try not to worry about that. I'm aiming more toward instilling a set of feelings in the audience.

What a sad little story. I don't find it at all ambiguous, actually: two men with their necks in a noose, living their lives in crippling denial of the "caché" feelings they have for one another.

I don't have any criticism that you don't already know about, I'm sure. It's underlit, which contribute to the muddiness of the colors, and you're working with actors that are too young to completely fill their roles. And, as short as it is, it could probably be even tighter.

But, most importantly, I think this is a really original way to tell this story (assuming I've got the right idea on what it's about). Good work!

Yeah, you're reading is pretty much how i intended it - I didn't want it to be about sexuality too much, so i tried to make it a little ambiguous (or at least, not make it a main focus). I've also had some pretty.. different readings which made me a little less confident about how clear I made the plot :p

Yeah, the lighting was.. well there wasn't any lighting. It was written then shot in the space of a couple of weeks and I don't own any lights myself (and couldn't afford to hire any at the time). I asked the university to borrow some, but at that stage I was still a first year and not part of the production course, so was denied. regarding the length - what sort of stuff would you cut?

Thanks for all the feedback, it's really appreciated!
