My Iris Dial went crazy!

Ah, it is indeed a dirty pot. I fixed it a little by rotating the wheel a bunch, but it's gotten bad again since. Anyone know how to clean a dirty pot? (No jokes about cooking pots, here, or even marajuana jokes.)
 
Sure is a funky little pot to begin with...
especially after many years of just grabbing the iris on the lens barrel...
I tend to let the camera set itself in auto... then switch it into manual...
I can see the need for adjustments while recording, but I to try
to stay away from whenever possible.

As far as the wheel... anyone from Panny listening...???
