My Gal Pal

Thanks hoz. Maybe next time we'll have to shoot for Home Alone John Hughes.

P.S. Free pat on the back to the first person who can guess where we stole our ending dolly shot from.

Good job! A lot of fun, and certainly a John Hughes feel to it. Especially nice homage when Long Duck Dong made an appearance.

The kiss at the end with the streamers was a nice touch.

There's another thread somewhere about who is the hottest babe this fest. I can't resist mentioning that the Jessica Biel lookalike in your film is pretty cute. I mean that in a purely professional way of course.

My Gal Pal
Love the beginning. Really gets the action going. I like these kind of stories. Kind of throw back to the 80’s boy, girl, best friend girl, what a dope, now he get’s it! The lighting seemed a little hard in some shots, too soft in others.

My favorite scene is when he’s running down the campus walkways. Very well done. The shot of the guy holding the boom box is priceless! (homage to ‘Say Anything’, and I swear that guy looked like John Cusak). Also, enjoyed the more subtle 'homages'. :)

Best festival kiss is awarded to “My Gal Pal”! That was great motivation, timing… it just worked so well. 3…2…1! Very romantic too! Congratulations on that!

This film was cliché, but I liked it a lot. (My entry has been said to be cliché as well). The camera movement, use of locations and the anticipation of what was hoped for the ending made this fun and enjoyable to watch. Great job on this!

Good job on the film. I hate to admit it but I've always had a soft spot for the 80's, that being the decade of my childhood and all. I liked the tone of your film and the homages work well. didn't notice any real technical flubs or anything like that. Nicely cast. My only thing is that I find it kind of hard to connect to a character that would allow himself to be manipulated THAT much. Kind of detched me from him but that might be because of all the mack in me. (heh heh) It did work for the genre though. Liked it. Good job.

This was a good film. I've seen the story over and over again, but yet there was something here that kept me involved. Just good stuff. Really liked the party atmosphere and it was cool to see the main character realize what he had at the end. Even though you saw it coming, you still wanted to see it.

Hey Guys, just watched you film again as I try to come up with my Top 3. You guys really have a fun film here! I've enjoyed it each time I've watched.

I am very impressed with...

how much much story you told in 6 minutes,
the execution of your tribute to the John Hughes films,
and the technical aspects of this film!

Really well done and quite enjoyable!

Congrats and good luck in the voting!

hahaha yeah Im cool with that. 928 doesn't need a floor for a few weeks.

But seriously, Gilbert asked me about being in the next film today. Im getting pumped.

Nicely shot and directed. The edits could have been a little tighter. Sometimes the actors looked like they were going to burst out laughing or something.

The music seemed a bit weird and out of place sometimes. Dialogue as well seemed to drift, but maybe this was due to compression artifacts?

But all in all a nice little film. Good work!

Lol, okay that was painfully cheesy, but I think that was your intention, so good job! The main girl (that he ends up with) had an excellent body. I wanted to see her "banging like rabbits" lol :-)
