My First Wedding Film!

Hey all! Wanted to share with you guys a wedding I shot a couple weeks ago with my HMC. It was the perfect Gig I was looking for. I wanted to film my first wedding so I could have some footage to share that would help with breaking into the market, and open up future opportunities, but wasn't a super stressful shoot where they were expecting a ton. I responded to the gig on craigslist, as it was a last minute gig they posted since the previous wedding videographer backed out on them. There was definitely alot i'd do different next time, and was a good learning experience. Ran into some issues, like with any shoot. For example, I mic'd up the minister, and figured as in 99% of weddings, he'd stand next to them during the vows and what not, which actually wasn't the case. So I wasn't able to pic up their audio through that. But I am very happy with the outcome of it. One thing i've learned to do in videography is to over deliver your product. For example, I spent alot of time editing and color grading just how I wanted it, and as a result the bride really loved it, gave me and extra $50 tip, and wants to help promote my services for me. Get out there and shoot great video guys! Don't be intimidated by DSLR guys who think they own the market.

You know what? I pretty sure I've shot in that church before (non-wedding)... maybe... where exactly is it located?

In any event, very well done for a first wedding (I'm watching at work so no audio)

Nice Job Matt! Grading and editing really make it...

Most of that was freehand? Really had a reality feel which works well in the piece. Though I usually prefer more stable video.
