My first short. 7D

Thought it was very nice. Would like to see a more interesting subject next time. But the shots and coloring were excelent!

Thank you.

Do you have an ideas for any shorts that I could do? By 'I could' I mean with only me.

Shane.

Nice shots indeed! I'd drop most sounds except the ones most necessary. This will smooth out your cutting.

Ideas: How about someone preparing for something (you don't know until the end)... waking... getting dressed... looking nervous... then going to.... PUNCHLINE....

Just a thought!

Yeah, I wish I had lowered the sound on some of the clips like pouring the water in to the kettle.

Yeah, that could work, maybe something like fiddling around with a tripod, using shots which make it look like a gun and then at then end reveal it as a tripod.

There ya go! Or maybe a knock on the door, which interrupts his routine... build suspense as the door knock gets louder and mroe serious... then its just a magazine salesman or something...

You could experiment with some foley on yoru previous short... just take out all of the audio from the camera and make the sounds as you watch it. Would be cleaner sounds for sure, as they are all not necessary. The music helps carry it.

When you want to embed a video from Vimeo, press the blue "Vimeo" button and then paste just the number from the vimeo link making sure there are no spaces.

That way it will show up directly in the thread.

Thanks, I forgot about that and you can't do it in an edit, oh wait got an idea. Yeah it works now thanks.

I think it was pretty good overall. Some of the coloring wasn't to my taste in the beginning but that's more of a personal preference. Also the sound could be more polished. When your pouring the water it would have been nice to hear the water being poured in it was just silent. Some of the shots you here the background noise and then when you cut it goes silent or isn't as loud. But this was more of an experiment and you probably just wanted to shoot and cut something so for future shorts the sound can be better. Other than that good work.

Thanks I wanted to film it a sunrise and use only natural light, but because of the English weather it wasn't possible.

Looks decent, what was your shutter speed set at? Seems like it may have been a little high, cause it was a lttle jerky at times (it worked though for your subject)

Keep it comming, remember film making isnt just about making things look good on tape, its about telling a story.

I think it was only at 1/100.

Yeah I know I just wanted to play around with the camera, I'm going to be working on a few more short films soon.
