My First Outing With The DVX100B

Hi,
I just got my DVX100B and took it out around town to see what it is capable of, and I love the results, even for not know what I was doing. I would like to share the video for anyone interested, it is 20mb roughly.

Also, I am having some mic problems, I made a post about this in the technical section but I am goign to say it again here if anyone has any ideas. The levels are set and are not redzoning or anyhting unless you like scream into the mic from upclose...yet, all the audio the camera captures is horrible, like it is red zoning. I am using the mic that is with the camera. Is there anything else I can do or redo to get my audio sounding better?

wow man, i loved all of it! very well done!

about the mic.. dunno bout that , even though i do sound. Clipping can occor but if its not going into the red zone ( clipping ) then you should not be getting that sound except for maybe direct wind noise on the mic itself, which would generally do the same thing as cilpping. Does the dvx perhaps have a compressor built in?
 
I actaully have no idea about any compressor. I read through the manual once and don't recall anything about it. Thanks anyways.
 
Great footage. Is it just me or did it seem stroby at some points? Maybe it was the compression? Did you shoot at 24p? Maybe a slow shutter speed?

Yeah it was 24p and i did play with the shutter speed which in premiere, showed up as like 24 point something frames and the shots that i didnt play with the shutter showed up as 23 point something.

Sounds like you are confusing shutter speed with frame rate...
