Hey dudes.
Some time back ago my friend Morten aked if I could make a music vid for one of his songs.
He was on vacation nearby and I had an idea for a vid so we went out and shot it.
I always wanted my first music vid to be a totally fictional piece with no "band shots",
which my friend went along with as long as I showed his face in the end :)
We were a two-man crew, my friend Lasse operated the dvx/sgpro rig and I directed.
Morten(the artist) played the main character. I had to shoot some as well, since all three of us had to play a part in vid. Maybe you can guess who I am!? :)
This is my first cut of the video so criticism of any kind is highly appreciated.
Shot on dvx-100/ SGPro rev.2 with pentax-k 28mm and 55mm lenses.

48mb, 3min, h.264.

i really liked the song, and the video was cool too. some of the camera shots got a bit crazy at times but it really didn't bother me. the costume was cool, haha all the little kids, did anyone say anything to you guys? i enjoyed it thanks for posting.

We got some comments, mostly weird looks, but the people were cool. It kinda got a little crazy were we shot with all the kids around and walking in stairs backwards with japanese tourists everywhere taking pictures :)

It can't be bad if there's a cardboard box robot involved, it just can't. I loved it, video was cool too.

And you were the guy with the hood, dp's always want to appear somewhere but never show their faces

Hahahahahah, loved the box robot walking around, violence and all. Why the b&w this time, did you have color issues or is it artistic descision. Hey, did you see the Cipa thread with his Dvx grabs; he calls it the “Smettli look”. Hmmmmmmmm. How is it that a 35mm adapter and extra glass gives better color and sharpness than the Leica lens on the DVX? I asked this last time but didn’t really get an answer. I’m big-time impressed with your work!

Fine work as always, but I would of loved to see it in color. Oh, well next time.

My favorit part was when the cardboard box robot got stabbed with th "box cutter"! LOL.....I found humor in that.

Can't wait to see more Smettli.

Thanks for kind words! The B/W was an artistic choice, the artist is also a fan of B/W, so we went for that. I will post a version with colors alsol, the camera man wanted to see it with colors as well :)
The knife is actually a carpenters knife, which was the only knife I had laying around at the moment(it was kinda a rushed shoot). And man did we go through a lot of gaffers tape! What would a film shoot be without gaffers tape...

bwest: As timurcivian always says: "The sgpro is magical", that's all I know about the sgpro's sharpness and colors :) Seriously. I have to find that Cipa thread you mentioned, fun stuff.

Do you guys have some input on what that should be cut out, or changed? Or something that looked weird? I'm going kinda editors blind at the moment.

And yes, I'm the guy in the junkie-hood :)

Thanks again!

My input is your shorts are to short and your not puttin out enough...lol. Hey man, you got a cult following around the world! [hint]
I see you found Cipa, and if Wayne activates my account with his forum sometime soon, Im going to show you Boston. Hey....your a big MB fan?

I havent used magic bullet very much, because I was worried that the image would scream too much "magic bullet!", But I'm starting to like it now as it is quite adjustable. I edit in Premiere Pro 1.5.
