My first HD100 Footage to share!

I took the HD100 out for testing to get more familar on the way the HD100 reacts to light and its colorimitry. For a lot of the shots it was full telephoto 16x. Not bad at all for the Fujinon, considering that it's worst case.. Contrary to what is said about the lens, it performs very good for the price...

There are a couple of XLH1 experimental color tests and night clips too in the XLH1 folder..

Anyways these are just basic no thrills tests done in Laguna Beach,CA and NewportBeach/Corona Del Mar,CA.

Hey, Pappas--

What are these shot at? 24p or what? I don't know ANYTHING about the JVC HD100... but damned if EVERY clip I've seen isn't freaking awesome.

I did notice the CA... but that pales in comparison to the amount of noise I've seen in other clips from other cameras.

Were these done using the default settings or did you make any scene file changes?
 
To much red in some of the skin tones for my taste. I know Pappas likes to get as much color to tape as possible and back it down in post so that is probably the reason.

Freaky. I swear, even in sunlight, some shots look like 16mm reversal film.
I like the look. I like the saturated colors! Wow!

Factory settings? Cine Wide?

Michael, as I said before, you are one of the most valuable posters around here. A real filmic-footage poster. Not just a bla bla bla HD theoretical poster. I did my guess and I'm proud that I wasn't wrong when I did it, fortunately. Congrats! KUDOS from Europe, :thumbsup: shooter!

EDIT -- BTW, XL-H1@1080/24F or HD100@720/24p to 35mm film-out@big_screen -- what's your bet(ter)/option?

I can't get your page up Michael. Firefox tries to "Save to disk" saying it is a "binary file"

Any ideas? I am on a Mac.

Both Firefox and Safari are doing that to me too... since it's a .Mac page it's really weird.

I had this problem also in Firefox. In Safari, I just click on the download link and it goes to the desktop.
 
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm not camera savvy at all, but I really like the image that this camera puts out. it's REALLY clean.
 
Barlow, i did color correction on the basket ball footage last night.
you think we could try sending over aim tomarrow?
i think you'll be amaized at the results.

Thanks Elton, I got it to work from Explorer in the end.
 
If some of you have issues seeing the page- clear your cache. Your welcome too!. All of you have been awesome to interact with. It's the least I can do, is to share footage. More to come though....

These were shot at 24P- The JVC is an awesome camera. Despite what people say about the lens, it's not a bad lens.
