My first CGI

Man, that was wild! I really liked it. The only thing I was concerned about was the slow approach to the object. I'm sure it's fine if you put it in a film somewhere though.

Cool look, dieselfoot. I'm working on combining live action with 3D objects from Blender, too. It's good to see that things can look this nice.

Hey, thanks for the positive feedback, everyone.

I hate to be rude.. but what does this have to do with DVX100? just wondering...

Understandable. I shot the clouds in the background with a DVX100b. This is also part of a larger sci-fi project that I'm shooting with my DVX. More footage coming soon...

Nice Work!! I'm learning myself and love seeing others work. I'm impressed with what you've done.

As for "what does this have to do with DVX100" well not all visuals in a film are just about the camera. I'm a DVX user, I'm also into 3d CG so I'm glad that other DVX users will also share their CG here.

Cool backgrounds!

Cool backgrounds!

That almost looked Star Wars worthy, if you got rid of the station and added a space-ship or a plane, or something. Great work on the background. Really nice!:Drogar-Evil(DBG):

For the background;
I throw my cloud footage into a Vegas timeline, flip it, speed it up, CC, and add limited FX(glow,MB). I render that out as an .avi file.

For the CG elements; Blender- rendered out in an NTSC template as Jpegs with a pure green background.

Then I take the CG Jpegs and put them in a timeline at 24fps and render that out as an .avi file.

Both .avi files now get dropped into Vegas (CG on the top timeline). I'll key out the green, and then render out another .avi file before I add effects.

At this point I add more glow, some more CC, grain, and I'll finish with a Magic Bullet Look. Oh yeah, this is when I add audio too. From there, I'll render out whatever I need for the web or DVD.

Never even heard of Blender.

I'm about to get Cinema 4d. But I'll get Blender as well.

How long have you been using Blender?

I've been fiddling with it off and on for about a month now. Definitely check it out. Best of all, it's free and open source. The Blender site also has tons of resources. The video tutorials help tremendously.

Yeah, I downloaded it.

I'll take a gander at it this weekend after I get Cinema 4d.

Itching to do some CGi work man.
