Davis & Sanford Provista 7518B- A bit on the cheap side.( but it comes with a free dolly at Markertek!) It rates at the weight bearing load I need and people seem to give it good enough reviews for the price. But I am an amatuer and would not put a tripod above my families financial well being.

thanks, but they're both maxed...i lost my job 3 months ago...kind of dealing with that. any money we have is for presents for our 4 year old daughter. my wife and i have struggled like this before and made it, so we'll see!

skinn - I think most of America is maxed out on the credit cards because of the
economy, paying rent by credit, having heard that since, I don't really know when.
Too bad what you are asking for requires a credit card. To get something
tangible would have to be through paypal.
I've also had a 'struggling' Christmas, son got sick, was the worse one ever to
date, he was flat on his back and we were at in-laws, even worse.

This year the family decided we will shop for each other at the Dollar store. Not kidding. We did this a couple years back and it was a lot of fun. It took away all the stress of what to get, how much to spend, and will they like it. You go to the Dollar store and find things they can either use or will make them laugh or smile. So for instance I may get a paper towel holder, some food storage containers, windex, and some plastic dinosaurs. It is hilarious to see what people come up with and a fun time.

Yes, I totally believe in dollar stores, used them in high school to buy gifts for
my friends. I could stretch a $20 like you wouldn't believe. At my house, I was
the only who got gifts because I had friends who gave them and me in return
and simple things like candles, candy and such. Doesn't take much, just something, ya know?

Hmmm... I am not sure. I tried to think about this and I really don't have anything that I "want". I mean I have things I need like a mic, external drive, and a bulletin board to pin up my index cards when I write. Hmmm... I guess it would be a new hat. A Fender hat for sure. Yeah that would be it, a Fender hat. I have a 1998 Stratocaster Deluxe and wearing the hat on the set would be cool.
It would be my new Director's hat hehe. But I am not one who thinks of things I want often. Only things I need to get me to the next step.

Last time I made my own wrapping paper which I will do this year too. You just take all the newspaper, ads, and magazines piled up from the holidays and go to town. Just cut out pictures from magazines and then get a hot glue gun to stick them on the newspaper wrapping. I do all kinds of funny things like put a baby driving a car wearing antlers or something I see that would be funny looking together. It gets some laughs. Just an idea for you folks.

helper and see what we can do as a community, you'd be surprised what
chunk change can buy.
