My Canon 7d Wishlist (need a second opinion)

Ok so Iʻm going to be purchasing a canon 7d package within the next few weeks. My budget is $2500. Here is what I have so far. And ideas or critiques would be great.

So basically what I will be using it for is mostly interviews, and musical performances. I work in the music industry so anything audio related is taken care of for me. I have 3 8gb 30mb/s cards collected for the purchase, and I chose the steady stock for a cheap handheld alternative. In the future Iʻd like to invest in the Z-Finder if I find it necessary to have.

In January Iʻm going to the NAMM show in LA to film a HUGE amount of interviews for bass frontiers magazine, and it will be run and gun all day for three days. I would like to have some advice from someone who has done something like this before. My idea was to carry around my Mac with me and load in my cards after each are full and just switch between the 3. Is this possible with a balls to the wall schedule, from your experience?

I also have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 I would be using mostly, when I rented the 7d I have a fun time with it.

Here is a link to my website/blog where I have most of my portfolio and some more details on the LA adventure. Thanks for reading.

Concerning the Z-Finder... it's expensive, which will make you reluctant to get it, but trust me... once you have it you wouldn't imagine going back. I think it's one of the first accessories a person should get if they are shooting video on a DSLR.

Also... for a couple hundred dollars I would get the parts to make a Zaza Slider.

Finally... I agree with editman when he says to get a VariND. Because of budget restraints I got a larger one to fit my largest lens and then got step up rings so I could use it on the smaller lenses.

Those things wouldnʻt be a problem to get if I had the money, but Iʻm at around $2400 out of $2500 right now. I guess Iʻm looking for more of, is the stuff I have on my wishlist going to suit the camera and me, ***just doing indoor interviews and indoor concerts***, the best. Iʻm going to rent the ZFinder once I buy the camera to check it out, thanks for the input.

The thing I would recommend is to get the 18-135mm kit lens. It costs a little more, but you get a wider lens. Effectively a 29mm-216mm lens instead of 45mm-216mm. PLUS you get an extra battery (so 2 altogether) with the 18-135 kit. Its the exact same Canon battery that actually communicates with the camera and charger so you know how full it is at any time. Goes for $70 on its own.

I bought my 18-135 kit at the National Camera Exchange for $2000:

I called in just to be sure it was in stock and stuff, but they were very helpful.

Looks like the B&H website has the PDF of a $50 rebate for any Canon 7D purchase. So that would make it $1950 now? Only about $100 more than the 28-135 kit that doesn't have the extra battery.

I also have 3 8gb cards (Sandisk ExtremeIII 30MB/sec). While I was able to get them cheap (about $20 a piece after rebate), and they are working fine for me now, I wonder if I'll wish I had a larger card so I won't have to worry about switching them out if I were shooting stuff all day.
