My camera suddenly doesn't work in camera mode.

I received my AF-100 about a week age and it has been simply great.
Today I was shooting with it and it worked fine. I downloaded some clips in my computer and went back to shoot some more. I changed the lens, turned the camera on and have a black screen.

I've done every diagnostic check I can think of. I made sure that "lens check" is still off. I changed lenses, made sure the lens cap is off, made sure the cards are not locked, ran through the manual, changed settings... everything.

I've checked it all three times and nothing is getting a picture. It works fine in playback mode. I can play all the clips. I can also get color bars in camera mode as well as all of the display information. When I change ISO or color balance it all displays on the screen.

I did call Panasonic tech support. They took my name and number and gave me a ticket number, but that was hours ago, and I'm wondering if anyone has any helpful info out there. I'm well aware that I could be missing something simple.

Thanks.

Hmm.. Try reseting the camera in the menus and then turning lens check off again. Oh, and make sure the ND filter is on 1 :)

Detach the lens and re-attach...a few days ago I changed lenses and fired up the camera to a black screen, I slightly rotated the lens (20mm 1.7) and it clicked..up came the picture.
Update: Sorry...just noticed you already tried changing the lens...ignore my suggestion.

Is the lens release button stuck in? I notice with some lenses the screen goes black if the button is pressed in. If not, check the pin on the mount surface of the camera. If that's stuck in you'll get the same thing.

Andrew,
Just read your post. I decided to try that again and it worked. I took off the lens and the Novoflex . When I out them back on, I twisted hard (not too too hard, but hard)
Thanks for the suggestion.

I guess this is one of those things that we've learned about the camera that everyone can keep an eye on.

One note though: I have had the camera turned on before with no lens and the screen worked. This time when I tried that and the screen stayed black until I messed with the lens again.
I wonder why that would happen?

Mike, I just read your post. I'll bet the lens release button was stuck in. That would explain my last question in my last post.
Thanks.

Nice, glad I could help! Not sure why, but your observation about the camera displaying an image with the lens on, but not with the lens partially on is factual.

Now that my camera is working again, I took the lens off while the camera was on.
I'm still getting an image, albeit an extremely blurry one.
I'm betting that when I changed the lens earlier this evening that I inadvertently depressed the button that
releases the adapter from the body, and that it was stuck.
