My AF101 doesn't recognize the new 1.14 firmware update

I have gotten to the bottom of it, and yes it is the Mac that's doing it, it's creating invisible files, and those are confusing the AF100. I offer at least one potential solution in this thread.

I've downloaded the 1.14 firmware update and it's obvious that Panasonic's pro division is doing this a lot differently than their consumer division. Whereas the consumer division's updates work flawlessly on a Mac, not so with the 1.14 AF100 update. I even tried unzipping with the Unarchiver which usually handles things the Mac built-in utility doesn't. But no luck.

I read about Stuffit Expander working, but I really don't want to install anything from that outfit since it has been the source of countless OS conflicts in the past and I've taken pains to get rid of every last vestige of their software whenever possible.

Guess I'll try the Keka software Barry suggests, but it sincerely disappoints me that Panasonic apparently never adequately tested their updating procedure. Or maybe they figured none of their customers use Macs. I agree with Leo - this does not represent Panasonic's finest hour. They need to fix this.
