My AF101 doesn't recognize the new 1.14 firmware update

I am following the instructions Panasonic provided on the support page but it seems the camera doesn't accept the new firmware or it just doesn't see it on the SC card in slot 1.
Any advice?

Same problem on an AF100. Tried 3 different cards including a SanDisk Extreme Class 10 card (which I can't record VFR on!). Every time I've put the SD card into the slot with the PRIVATE root folder with the firmware update into the camera, it says to "check card". Please help!

Is this camera firmware or lens firmware?
 
tried at fourth SDHC card. still getting the "check card" problem. maybe its my AF100? Does anyone know what I can do?
 
i'm beginning to think my camera is faulty. i downloaded the P2 logger application, installed the driver that came with it, restarted my computer, connected the camera to my mac, and its connection to the application fails every time. i can't figure out whats going on.

Software update for improvement of the SYSTEM ERROR
The system error occasionally occurred on the camera side (AG-AF100 series) when SD Card File Recovery Software on the computer which is connected to the camera by USB cable was executed with SDXC card inserted in the camera.
The SD Card File Recovery Software has been updated so that it can operate normally with the SDXC card.
This system error will not damage the SDXC card.
* This system error does not occur with SD/SDHC card.

Remedy
If you use the AG-AF100 series and SD Card File Recovery Software with the above conditions, please update
1) Software for AG-AF100 series camera into Version 1.14-00-0.00
2) The SD Card File Recovery Software into Version 1.1.
 
i was hoping that there was more to it (the firmware update) because i can't see to enable VFR mode with my Class 10 SanDisk Extreme Card. it just won't work. anything that you think i'm missing?
 
you probably have fake or pirated sandisk class 10 cards. someone else reported this already. I was nervous because I have these cards as well. Mine were okay letting me operate VFR fine. I think in the other report they got the cards from Buy.com. I bought mine from Digital Media Source through Amazon.

+1. Fake/counterfeit SD cards are rampant. Only ever buy your cards from an authorized reseller of the manufacturer.

I have the same behavior on my AF100, using Panasonic Gold class 10 cards.

No AF-101, AF-101P or AF-101E in the Europe list and I am not able to find it with the search tool. So I cannot register the cam and download the new firmware.
Someone could kindly post the contents of the firmware update?

Salve Gary, per registrare la mia AF101 non ho avuto problemi con la pagina di supporto del sito internazionale di Panasonic. Non ricordo cosa ho scritto al momento della compilazione ma nel mio profilo ora risulta registrata la cam con la sigla AF101E. Per quanto riguarda il postare il nuovo firmware non so quanto sia legale copiarlo su un server esterno a quello di Panasonic, ma se vuoi visita keyframe.tv, lì trovi il mio contatto e via email possiamo organizzare uno scambio più tranquillo.
