My AF100 Footage Sucks What am I doing wrong?

I just bought an AF100. After I copy the PRIVATE folder to my PC; I view the footage in Windows Media Player and it is natively small. If footage is HD, W.M.P. always natively makes the image large. Showing that it is indeed HD.
My footage is also pixelated when zooming or fast camera movement. It looks like bad compression.

I am recording in 1080/24p. The footage should be natively large and crisp in Windows Media Player like my HPX170 footage is (it is squeezed but large). When I import the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 (AVCHD 1080p Sequence) It fills the whole frame making me think it is HD. If you put a 720p image in a 1080p sequence the frame is still 720 and will not fill the picture. However, the footage still pops in and out of pixelation.

I am using the footage under STREAM in the PRIVATE folder. Is this the correct and uncompressed footage? I have also tried dropping the PRIVATE folder directly into Premiere and it accepts it minus a few files. The accepted footage it uses is still pixelated. Also when I view the footage on the camera it appears to be perfect. What am I doing wrong? Mybe a bad sd card reader, although still works fine for my Nikon photo's I transfer? Please help.

OK,

In premiere pro, right click in a clip and select properties.. if it says the file is about 2,1MBs and 1080 then the material is good.

now when it comes to pixelation in premiere.. premiere has settings that uses pixelation on weak computers to run it in real time.
You can find the setting in the monitor window.. its the Playback Resolution setting that are 100% 50% and 25%, make sure they are 100% on playback and paused.

And very strong banding can occur when premiere plays back and it comes from that it doesn't care to do the hole decoding job if the computer is weak. for real time sake.

My computer is not 100% strong enough and i have Intel i7 hexa core 3,2 ghz and 24gb ram. The decoding of the clips is done 100% on the processor.

One more thing, premiere does not care at all fore the folder structure so just copy the files from: private/avchd/bdvm/stream/ and live happy :)
No, thats bad advice for any memory card camera workflow.

Premiere Pro does care if the folder structure is there or not. If you do long shootings and clips span in the camera Premiere Pro CS5/CS5.5 stitch the clips together automatically if you keep the folder structure and all files within. Yes, if you do File > Import you will import all spanned files but they are still stitched automatically and will indeed be treated as one (1) shooting. If you use Media Browser you will see each shooting and not each clip. So if you for example have four spanned clips on the card it will show up as one (1) clip in the Media Browser in Premiere Pro CS5/CS5.5 and no manually tools will be needed to stitch clips together. Keeping the folder structure and using Media Browser is golden. Keeping the folder structure is platinum.

If you just copy the .MTS files as you suggest you must stitch the clips together manually or live with the drop outs in video and audio.

@Phreegamehendge:
To get rid of the pixelated video, right click in the Source panel/Program panel and go to Playback Resolution and change it to Full.
