GH2 My Advanced Cinematography Final

For my advanced cinematography final we each had to recreate the aesthetic from a scene. The scene I was assigned was from Panic Room, here's that scene from Panic Room.

I wrote a script for a different class and used it for this short. I used my GH2, 20mm pancake, a dolly, my Konova slider, 2 Arri 2Ks, an Arri 650, a bad title, and okay acting. Also, no color correction was done. This is what I got, what do you think?

lighting looks great (except for that pan where we see the light!) but some of the framing made for awkward cuts and personally i'm not crazy about the out of focus shots. i'm super jealous of your gh2 blacks - i have an upcoming short film with lots of blacks and i'm not even considering using my gh13 as the main camera - i'm borrowing a friend's 5d...
 
Thanks guys! I made a bunch of mistakes on this but it taught me a lot. I'm happy how it turned out without color correction. Also, I'm glad I didn't mess up more then I did, being in the middle of finals, running on no sleep, and filming at 1am. But no matter what, I totally love it!
 
I really like you're light, good job.
I'm interested in the konova slider. When did you use it ? and which head did you use?
 
I used the slider in any small dolly moves. The push in at the beginning the slider is used as a jib. I also used it to get the camera in front of the gun when the scene reverses.

I use the 717AH head that Emm from cheesycam uses. I haven't swapped out the grease so it's pretty stiff, but I think the stiffness makes it smoother.
 
The look of the film is very good. A good color correction job would make it look amazing. Like the twist in the end and the shot too.
It could have being more flowing in terms of visuals..For eg the shot, when the actor comes out of the door...If there was a shot of him from inside the room opening the door...it would not have looked jerky to me.

Was curious to know how do you find blacks in GH12, GH13 and 5D? Whats the difference?

I totally understand what you mean. I wish it was a short I was working on instead of rushing through finals. At the end of this weekend I'll color correct it and post it here.
 
I honestly don't know of any cheap lighting. I was using Arri kits on this shoot and those aren't very cheap.
