My 7D Rig. Not exactly low profile.

Well this thing got pretty big pretty quick. I am 6'7" so shoulder mount is pretty much out of the question most of the time unless I want most of my shots to have downward tilt. I haven't shot with my Frankenstein rig yet but seems pretty comfortable. I was part of the test group for Teddybear's veiwfinder and I must say, focusing with his T-finder is Super Simple and is very comfortable! This was a quick set up just to test. what do you guys think? At least it looks big for clients.

Seems like that would probably get heavy on your arms. I'm curious to see how it works. It seems similar to the redrock dslr bundle.

yow Richard...how much is the Tfinder? I was i think i saw something about it around here, but i thought he was just giving out the instructions on how to make it...didnt know its a full blow production thing. seems kool. How much maginifcation is it?

Also that handle at the top...whats that?

The handle and c clamp is from indifocus. It is called the Indiclamp, it is not on the website you have to call Tim and ask him for it. It is $40.

I am not sure of the magnification of the T-finder but it is super sharp and very easy to focus. I did not pay for it, I was part of a test group that he sent them to. Believe me I have tried to get him to charge for them but. He is a true Diy'er.

Thank you! My kids are a trip. It never ends around here. I just had to clean up a kitchen wall that was completely covered in finger paint.

It is not too bad without the monitor. The monitor and battery make it a little heavy but I am a big guy and I can handle for short periods of time. I was going to buy the Captain stubling bundle but I saved some money and just got the rails from Indifocus I had the other parts from redrock already. It works though.

i knew it looked like an indi product...i just couldnt find it on the site. good to know. Tim should really put it up..cuz i see it as being quite handy. cant wait till i get a 7d (dreaming :) ). shooting on my trusty dvx100b.
I hope when i get mine Teddy will be charging (well if he wants to gimmi free then even better :) ), cuz it sure would save some $ over getting the zfinder.

Very impressive --- i'm sure the clients don't know what side of the camera to talk to !

Am I missing something by not having a focus ring? Everyone seems to have one...except me

Well, I want to know which FF that is. I have a ProAim one and it works great, but it needs rails to mount. I can't use it with my Rapid Fire. What Richard has seems pretty cool and mounts on the bottom of the camera or something...

By the way Tim, I find that it really helps - up to you though if you need it. If you're getting along fine without one, why buy one just 'cause?

Hm,

She'll make point five past light speed.

Is there any way you can post a picture or two of just the indiclamp? I have been looking for a cheap top handle setup for low shots and this may be a good option.

no prob. The clamp is attached to the rails. And I can't figure out how to get it off. Once I will take pics. I may need to call Tim on it. I ordered them separately because I need it modular.

I remember seeing a thread on how to build the T-finder, does anyone remember that? I've been trying to find it for a few days.
