My 550D will not record with magic lantern.

I installed magic lantern, then one that said it was compatible with the 550D, but when I press record it only records for about 1 second and then turns off. Any idea what to do?

Does it give you any notification when it turns off? I know that some cameras, like my 60D, say things like "Recording has been stopped automatically." This could possibly be due to your SD card not being able to write the data fast enough.

Were you able to record properly before installing ML? Have you increased the CBR option for video? If its too high, you will fail every time because the SD card cant write so much data in the required time.

Are you able to disable sound recording? Doing so reduces the amount of data that needs to be written, this may help.

Okay thanks. Actually yes, this is the case. If I shoot with the FPS override switched to OFF, the camera stays on. So it was a problem with the FPS, and not being able to write fast enough probably. Their is another issue though now. If I shoot at 24, every 4 seconds, the ISO jacks way up, then goes way down. The ISO is not switched to auto. This is on manual ISO settings. Any idea what could be doing that?

Is HDR mode on? It will do this every 1 second in HDR mode in ML settings.
