Mxf conversion with raylight

How do you convert a full mxf files folder into avi with raylight? I've been trying to this but I can only process a single clip. In the tutorial, it says drag and drop the contents folder into raymaker... but I can't .

Secondly, is it neccessary to convert mxf to avi in vegas? Reason I ask is becoz I can import mxf files directly into vegas with the raylight codec, but the problem is I can't identify which clip I'm importing with the way mxf files are created. What's the best way to identify mxf files?
Lastly, there's a slight drop in resolution with the mxf-avi conversion, will the final product e.g dvd have this loss?

Thanks in advance!

I am able to drag a whole folder. What is it doing?

With the low res, raylight allows you to set it to low res for editing to take it easy on your computer, but set it back to high before you export.

As for naming the MXF files, I do not think there is any way around this right now. You cannot rename the files, because the other files are dependent on the video mxf naming convention.

It just won't let me drag and drop. I have to click on CONTENTS folder, then video plus the clip in order to open. If I just click the whole folder nothing happens. I'm actually frustrated on having to process clip by clip, obviously I must be missing something... but I dunno what it is.

What are you dragging the CONTENTS folder into? The Raylight Window with the Prism and the words "Drag P2 Folder here to Start"?

When you do, do you get a message in a new window, e.g.

Add Folder H:\CONTENTS
H:\CONTENTS\VIDEO\0066NI.MXF

Click Start to make Raylight AVI files

If not what does it say?

What is the pathname to the CONTENTS folder in your case?

I have a folder set up something like this:
c:/P2/001 I have folders 001-010. I basically drag an entire P2 card folder(001 002 etc) into each sub folder of my P2 storage folder
then i drag the entire 001 folder onto raylight and it converts the whole cards contents and leaves the video files in the c:/P2/001/CONTENTS/VIDEO folder. If you use the raylight proxy system leave them there, If you processed them as self contained files then move the AVIs wherever you want to.

Well, this is how I have been working with my mxf files. I organize p2 with firestore then copy to a folder on the external drive. Yesterday I copied a small contents folder from the external drive back to the local hard drive C: and I was able to drag and drop into raymaker. So, my question. Is it possible to drag files from an external hard drive into raymaker? or do they just have to be saved on the local drive before you can drag and drop? I mean what happens if you are working with many folders each about 90 gigabytes? I guess it's me who's missing the right process in storing and working with my mxf files. So, if you would please... can you give me a basic step by step process of doing this starting from the firestore. Your help is highly appreciated.
If I convert mxf into self contained avi files, is it ok at this point to delete the original mxf content? and when I render the avi files with raylight configured to blue, will they retain their full original resolution? Lastly, while configuring raylight, is it better to check remove extra frames or no? Sorry for the many questions that may seem basic knowledge to most.
