MXF and Final Cut Express

I have MXF files and FCE. I need a program that can convert the MXF's to quicktime. Gotta do it tonight. Any help is appreciated.

Also, FCE doens't have the DVCHPRO-HD codec, I don't believe. I think that's FCP only. As far as I'm aware.

I've got an old version of FCP, but it doesn't work right with P2 import. I was going to try to get the file into the old FCP, down rez to SD and import into FCE for editing. I tried the P2 Log demo and it didn't recognize the P2 cards that were mounted on the desktop. I still don't quite know what to do. This is my first time using P2 Cards. I wish I could afford a new version of FCP.

You need the version of FCP that supports the DVCProHD codec, which is installed as part of the FCP install. Without that, you cannot work with MXF files to convert them in any manner.

This is a round hole, square peg issue.

I'll just get a friend to do it. Luckily, I can keep the camera for yet another day. I've got some nice buddies.

You need the Panasonic card driver installed if it's not mounting. Links' on here somewhere, or you can get to it from our MacFAQ page.
