music vidya - need comments

hey everybody, i just did a music video with my dvx100b for a class project. im still editing it and would like to see if anyone has some ideas or comments on what i need to change. at the beginning when i just stand out of focus we are greenscreening me in as a devil or angel or something so thats why its a boring shot for a few seconds. anyway here it is http://media.putfile.com/jimi-hendrix---hey-joe-rough-cut-music-video

Whoa he actually shaved his head for a class project. Dedication. Anyway it looks pretty good, and the black and white/red girl was pretty cool, but it got a bit slow in the middle, imo. You coulda used more shots

I don't know if I would really call it a music video. Mainly because there wasn't any actual performing music wise in the video. I see it more of a short film cut to music. But I think it was pretty good nonetheless

Most of the time you will find that class projects are covered under "fair use" of a copyright.

The band doesn't have to be in in to classify it as a music video. For example the members of Tool are not any any of their videos... ever.

not bad...i liked the storyline. I didnt really care for the white flashes...they looked sloppy. There is a nattress plug in for final cut pro that has a film flash option that would have looked a lot better.

The body language of the couple on the bridge didn't strike me as being a real couple. They sit far apart, walk far apart, don't even touch that I remember. Looks like she's not your real gf.
I'm not terribly fond of videos that play out the song exactly, but if that's your tack, I think the gunman (you?) has to show much more angst. Is he going to kill his lover or pick up a pizza? Some sweat, some more intense closeups might help. I'd save the red effect for after he's shot her, and keep her dress gray/white until then.
Ditto on the white flashes -- a bit too noticeable, as was the refraction/camera flare artifact. Good luck with it.

thanks for the replies, yea im the main guy shavin my head and didnt have anything to do with the story, just editing. i didnt want to keep those white flashes i was usin them till i could find an effect, im using FCP so where is this plugin your talking about or something cool to lead into a flashback?, i cant find it. i like the idea about havin the red only at the end so ill try it but i dont think my group will want to keep that version.
